[It's unusual for Lysandre to text rather than to use literally any of the other functions in calling, but for now text is what's being received.]
I can confirm that I'm definitely Sanguis. I've been warned about most of it already, but my primary question is why no one thought to mention the fire.
[Is it definitely very unusual, which is part of the reason Sycamore feels vaguely concerned when he sees the notification pop up. Surely it's nothing, however-
....
.....um]
Fire? Is everything alright?? What is on fire, Lysandre???
I've heard vague details around how the moons sometimes give magic powers, but I've never experienced it myself and neither has anyone in my direct contact network. It sounds like you're the first!
[Because arguing with Lysandre over this is absolutely pointless (as most arguments with him tended to be - the man was so hopelessly stubborn), that's all Sycamore intends to say. Any annoyed replies to that text will be ignored until his Charizard touches neatly down in front of Lysandre's building. It's only the second time Sycamore has visited, but this already feels so incredibly familiar.
[It's very tempting - as much as he hates it - to launch into why he's so concerned, but that will send them hurtling down a road towards a topic that he knows neither of them want to touch, and will catastrophically reduce the chances of this door being opened.
Dammit. Is he the one being unreasonable? Is this just an overreaction?]
...
[Should he just drop it?]
...I'm not saying I don't believe you, I'd just...like to check. Please don't ask me why.
If you're going to be this insistent, I think I deserve to know why...?
[Pretty much everything about this is summarized with "I don't know why you think this will work", up to and including doing all of this and then telling him that you're just not going to explain why.]
[There's a lot of silence from the other side of the door, in response to that; Sycamore is currently resting his head against it while he tries to put his thoughts in order. It seems there are three options here - 1) continue to ask Lysandre to open the door (bad), 2) tell him why he wants him to open the door (worse) or 3) say goodbye and promptly return to his apartment (??? but probably not...good).
[It takes him a moment to get the door unlocked, but he does manage; he...well, physically he seems fine? If there are any traits he's picked up they either haven't come in yet or they're easily concealed; either way, he seems mildly agitated but generally acceptable.]
[Lysandre does look fine, and it's calming; no dramatic transformations to be seen. He doesn't even look all that phased by everything. On the surface, all seems well.
Well enough, I think... It's also possible I just haven't been hit full-force yet. But for the time being I'm managing. It isn't pleasant, but it isn't unbearable.

I refuse to believe that I'm the first person here that's done this.

Are you alright? Can I come over?

I just want to know that you're alright, mon ami.

I've already told you that I am. It's hardly my fault if you don't believe me.

Ugh.]
You're not going to like it.

That's my decision, not yours.

Here we go, then.]
...last time you sent me a message that worried me, I never saw you again.
no subject
If I let you in now, you have to promise me that you'll leave me be for the rest of the Sanguis cycle. Do you understand?
no subject
Of course, Lysandre. If you're coping fine, I'll leave you be.
I promise.
no subject
I let you in now, you leave me be for the rest of Sanguis. Is this an agreement or not?
no subject
[Honestly.]
But fine. Yes, I agree to your terms. Unconditionally.

But.]
Can I come in?
[That was part of the agreement, after all.]
no subject
[He'll allow it, anyway, though he seems content to remain standing even after the door is closed behind them.]
This isn't anything like that last time that you were talking about. Surely you realize that.

[Sycamore won't sit so much as lean against the nearest piece of furniture, taking in the apartment as he does.
...
...yes, he's looking for scorch marks.]
How are you feeling, anyway?

Well enough, I think... It's also possible I just haven't been hit full-force yet. But for the time being I'm managing. It isn't pleasant, but it isn't unbearable.
